Programme description:
To increase people's awareness and knowledge about the benefits of healthy nutrition, national portal on food and nutrition www.prehrana.si was established. There is a lot of contradictory information regarding nutrition on the web, which can be confusing. There are often financial interests of food industry and providers in the background, that is why we do not allow any commercial information or marketing on the portal. Our mission is to provide credible and professional information on nutrition for all life stages. Portal joins different content which is prepared by professionals from different institutions and areas of profession. Besides nutrition recommendations for different groups, there are also nutrition myths explained and collection of most important information on nutritional content of different foods and their ingredients is regularly updated. Current news and events regarding nutrition are also published. To ensure better understanding and easier use of portal's content, key contents are exposed with the most important information and graphical content.
Collaboration with other institutions:
We collaborate with other institutions and exterior professionals from Slovenia and abroad. We also work with European Food Information Council (EUFIC - www.eufic.org), which is a non-profit organisation, which communicates scientifically proven information on health and nutrition, food quality and safety.
